Howdy folks

The name's Bug. Mine, that is. My Gu's name is Kepler. For the physicist mathematician Johannes Kepler, discoverer of the three laws of planetary motion.

Not that I'm a nerd. Cuz I'm totally not. I mean- it's not like my Bosc Monitor is named Tycho. For the best naked eye astronomer who ever lived: Tycho Brahe(who "worked" "with" Kepler).

...Wait. It is his name?? Shoot. Welllll, would a nerd have a Boa Constrictor named Hypatia after Hypatia of Alexandria, famed head of the Neoplatonic school at Alexandria, brilliant female scholar and philosopher? They would????

Well. Then I guess I am a nerd after all. ;)

I also keep bearded dragons and I have a western hognose and a bunch of non reptile pets.

I'm 24, in school(tho currently on medical leave due to a severe and prolonged ear infection thing) as a triple major(math, physics, biology). I work in the biology department of my school doing lab prep and critter care, and I am interning in a federal lab doing work with mammalian cells and oxidative stress(research pertains to the aging process and many diseases).

I've kept dragons and snakes for many years now, but bought my Bosc last August(I think) on impulse(I know, I know) from a local aquarium/reptile shop. I brought him home and set him up like I would have a newly acquired baby dragon. Thankfully, I did some research and he got moved to an acceptable temporary enclosure complete with dirt and high heat later that week.

Then Repticon came to town at the end of January and I picked up the wee baby Kepler, about whom I am completely crazy.

It's been about three weeks since I brought Kep home, and she is fantastic. No fear. Climbs right up my arm to hang out on my head or shoulders or to explore. Eats like a champ(mostly, she doesn't care for a few things I've offered), and is super smart and inquisitive.

Anyway. I'm working on plans for adult enclosures now. Have the floor taped out where I'm putting the vivs(making a desk between them also), and am playing around with ideas for a large water feature and some climbing logs.

Dimensions of the vivs will be 8x4x4+.

Kep is a Chacoan Giant btw. So if she outgrows the 8x4x4+, I am well prepared to build bigger if she needs it.

Annnnnyway. That's enough of an intro essay I think. :p

Welcome Bug. Having herp keeping experience helps a lot. Kep's handsome and healthy-looking stand back and watch him grow.

I see your Savannah found a nice hiding spot LOL, Meanwhile your tegu is tasting your hair and your snake, which looks like a BCI is watching tv on a laptop. Great family moment...
