My guy is 7yrs, he has never ever shown ANY interested in any fruits/veggies, usually I'd hide them in a "meat ball".... until recently, he will chow down on any fruits or veggies, even mustard and collard greens. Hes loving everything! I dont get what the change is all about! lol

For a smaller tegu is it better to offer cut up small pieces of fruit or bigger pieces to let them bite off chunks?

definitely to cut them up into small enough pieces that they can swallow, wouldnt want to take the risk of them choking

I agree, for all my lizards who eat veggies, I cut them into TINY pieces they can easily swallow. They don't have mouths made to chew things up easily, they usually just gulp things down. If it's too big it'd make eating very difficult for them or impossible depending on the food.

I have an 18in baby...I just introduced blueberries and tomatoes.he ate 2 blueberries but walked right over the tomatoes.they were all cut to make it easier.I guess each tegu has a different preference...like people :shy:
