I'm getting these two bearded dragons because my friend is getting rid of them. She says the male (darker one) keeps biting on the female's neck. Is that normal? & Should I continue keeping them together like my friend does?

That is definately breeding behavior, so I would be careful. You could end up with 40 additional babies in a few months...

Bearded dragons, in my opinion, should not be kept together. Males will kill each other, females will have one dominate over the other and could end up killing each other like the males, and a pair...the male could easily over breed the female, plus all the other stuff that could happen. Just not a good situation at all.

ya that will work very nicely for one. 2 could be ok if u keep a real close eye on them just depends on the male.

I have my female and male together in a 165 gallon tank. My male doesnt bother her much at all...i see the head bob once in a while..but it really depends on the male and if you wanna breed. Mine started breeding in spring, and i havnt seen anything sense then..But she did lay 3 clutches which is normal with one breeding. Bearded dragons females can hold sperm in them which alow's for multiple clutch's (if you want to breed you better be willing to spend TON's of money).
Also you might want a feeding tank, Cause they can be VERY dominate over food.. so you should feed them separate.

I would seperate them unless you wanna breed them. I freaking love beardies though. But males do have an agressive behaviour pattern compared to females.

I would separate them regardless...we USED to have 2 one was bigger than the other (and male) not sure if the other was male or female, but...for 6 months they were fine...then one day, bam...the bigger one (we still have) bit the head of the smaller one. it got mangled so bad, it no longer had eyes that you could see, couldn't eat...we had to put it down. It was terrible!! Please don't chance it cuz I felt like the biggest loser when it happened! (they were in a 55gal tank!
