As many of you may know, Zzyzx passed away earlier this month... She had MBD coupled with a flagellate infection that threw her health into a downward spiral since back in December. I volunteer for a herp vet, so she was seen and treated constantly, but most of our treatments, though effective in most any other patient, had little or no effect on her. She finally left us two weeks ago when she stopped responding to any stimulation and spent the night hospitalized on fluids... we all miss her but agree that it was best for her to go with the long term effects of her illness.
Yesterday was my birthday, which I spent in the vet clinic as usual. I was surprised when the staff brought out a cake, but even more shocked when they announced that they had all pitched in to get me a tegu for my birthday. All I know at this point is that she's a baby and likely a female, and that she'll be waiting for me tomorrow when I get to the clinic. I'm extremely excited and I'll post pictures when she gets here!
