Got thrown out of a pet shop today

it all started when i walked into the mall pet store and they were selling the cutest baby savs ever. So i asked to see one of them and when i looked at them they were on mulch so i decided to play dumb. The store manger opens the tank up and picks them up for me to hold i started asking questions and he answered WRONG to every one of them.

How big do they get? 2ft

How fast do they grow? depends on the heat

what bark do you recomend?( i couldnt say substarit just yet) Any

what do I feed them? Crickets and letteuce

for there whole life? yup

what tank size should he be in? well a 10 gallon will last you most of his life

do they bite ? no

Thats when i snapped and told him everything he said was wrong and I told him everything i knew not to mention there were other people around listening to his so called "Care" for them and i was told to leave the store and not welcome back and right before i left i said and by the way your moitos probably have salminla and your all going to be sitting on the toilet for a very long time

haha wow....goes to show you that all the pet stores care about is making a few bucks. i have seen tons of pet stores like that! plus i like that little comment you added before you walked out haha

haha yeah I've been kicked out of alot of mall pet stores I have even been escorted off property by suecirty guards because they had iguanas and they had no UVB just a day bulb.

And its funny too cause i was watching a vid on youtube and congress passesd a law saying pet shops by law have to tell you how big they get, food and special lighting. its really sad that the govnt has to pass a law like that

oh man i can't believe how terrible the employee's answers were! Just feed them crickets and lettuce? Ten gallon aquarium? Hopefully someone heard you while you were telling the guy off and paid attention to what correct monitor husbandry should be like!

oh thats what i forget to mention he was the manager and he said that that UVB/UVA isnt requiried for babies i mean me i think all reptiles should have that aviable some people dnt but if im not mistakin isn't that the time they need it most

it is important as babies but lots of people say monitors dont need it. many people have raised very healty monitors without UVB exposure

yea but for me i would always make it aviable in some way just in case
