I just signed up yesterday and wanted to quickly introduce myself. I just received my new B&W tegu on Friday from backwaterreptiles and he is doing great. His name is Bowser. I haven't measured him yet but he looks to be around 13 inches. So far he is adjusting about the way I would expect. The first day I fed him some crickets dusted in calcium. When I put him back in his enclosure he basked for a bit and then hid the rest of the day. Sat I woke up and he was out basking. I got up and prepared him breakfast but when I opened his cage he hid and was gone for the day. Yesterday started off the same but when I opened his enclosure he let me take him out and ate some more crickets and some pieces of chicken liver. When I put him back in his enclosure he hid again and was gone for the day. Today he climbed into my hand when I placed it in the enclosure and after breakfast I gave him a bath which he seemed to like. He then basked for a few minutes and hid. (I'm assuming it'll be for the rest of the day) he hasn't been out much but seems to be getting used to me a bit more everyday which is all I can hope for. Anyway, glad to be here and hopefully I can get on here often and participate often.
