Hello from California

Hello people.

I'll be picking up a tegu tomorrow. Thought I'd finally join this forum and officially introduce myself after months of lurking.

Its been a while since I've had a "big" lizard but I got the green light from my wife this week!

My current reptile collection consists of:
3 diamondback terrapins
2 sulcata tortoises
1 desert tortoise
1 Indian star tortoise
6 bearded dragons
1 uromastyx

Other pets:
2 dogs
9 aquariums (ranging 1g to 300g)


I hope to become a contributing member to this forum.

The tegu was rehomed to me by an owner who had him since Feb. Originally purchased from Rodney at TegusOnly. I'll post some pics when I get around to it. He's in shed and not too happy from all the commotion of moving. Estimated to be about 40"

PS: original owner suspects he might be a chacoan aka giant. What do you guys think?

Hes a beautiful tegu. No clue on the chacoan, I still haven't figured out the differences yet. He has lots of white to him though. Definitely pretty. I hope to get a male from Rodney soon, preferably with a lot of white.
