Hello all. My name is renee and i got leah, an argentine black and white, a week before thanksgiving. Shez beautiful, healthy and very easy to handle. Im guessing shes about a year old but im not sure. Im not sure shes a girl but i feel no bbs yet.
I do have a concern and im hoping someone on here can help. She has a terrible sleep routine. She gets up at around 3 in the morning acting like shes starving. I feed her everyday when i get up, about 430 cuz shes already awake. After she eats, she burrows for the rest of the day. I get almost no playtime with her. I would love to change her routine without her resenting me for waking her up in the daytime. She will wake up on her own when i change her water cuz het hiding spot is under her water bowl.
I want to get her use to her harness but her sleeping rountine makes it difficult

When I first got my tegu girl, I would wake her up all the time. Do it slow, gently uncover her, talk to her before you touch her. Let her hear your voice. Then you cen gently remover her. Don't feed her right away, she would associate you waking her up with feeding time. I did that for a few days and it totally changed her sleeping cycle. She hangs with me all the time now. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the advise. I thought that maybe i would start getting her up when i get home from work and keeping her up for a while may change the way shez sleeping. I think maybe she knows when I'm about to get up and had gotten use to eating first thing in the morning. I dont mind feeding her in the morning. In fact, i cant stand the thought of any of my lizards being hungry so it helps me not worry so much about them when im gone all day. But i wouldnt mind feeding them when i get home either
