My name is Lucca ive had my tegu for 5yrs i actually joined this site because me and my tegu are in need of some help. My Tegu has formed a large bump on its lower back rite before its tail and hasnt been moving around or eating at all. im worried and not sure what the bump is or how it got there. I give my tegu baths regularly and clean my tank and change bedding often. If anyone can help with some advice it would be highly appreciated thanks

Hi Lucca,

I can't access the picture. I'm not a vet. I am wondering if the bump is a growth that is pinching a nerve impeding its move.ent, either paralysis or pain. This calls for a visit to a qualified vetdealing with exotics.

Definitely need to see an exotic pet vet. Unfortunately most "normal" vets have limited if any knowledge of reptiles. Although they still might be able to assess the type of growth if an exotic vet isn't easily accessible

I had a tegu with a similar bump, and was advised that it could be a lack of calcium. Metabolic bone disease developed.
