Maybe im just paranoid.....
I have had my b&w tegu, Xerxis, since mid august. Happy and healthy. I am loving being a lizard mom.
1. Concern I have is her nose. I have seen and heard about nose rubs and how detrimental they can be. Wanted some insight if this little spot could become exactly that.
2. I dont think I have ever noticed her bum being a little puffy and pinkish red. (Also if its a boy and ive been calling it a girl im sorry lol)
- I would just like to either confirm or deny my paranoia seeing as I am new with tegus but they stealyour heart so quick. Please and thank you in advance!

From the pics it doesn't appear to be a nose rub? The rub would of course get raw and scab up. Doesn't appear to be either? The red near her "bum" that was cute.. appears to be the skin coloration when a shed is in progress. That said if your feeding heavy and your Gu is eating everyday he/she will be shedding or in shed a lot of the time at that size and age, so the redness may appear there a lot. After the next good(complete shed) of her entire under belly, take a peak, i bet the color will be different. Keep an eye on the nose, but i think your fine, just a good paranoid mommy.:)

Yeah, just dound out my xerxis I a boy. He shed completely about two weeks ago and is changing color again so I will definitely keep that in mind. Hes had stuck shed on his tail this whole time too. Ive been scrubbing it when I soak him and misting as usual. It comes off in bits and pieces. He is still alert and happy and active so I must be doing something right haha

Good job!! Tail will always be your nemesis when it comes to sheds. Keep misting, maybe a humidifier on a timer for 12 hours corresponding with his light cycle and you will be good to go. Enjoy him :)
