I used Drylock as well. Yes its expensive but if you think about it so would be a new enclosure if the wood started to rot out. Might as well go with a proven method as opposed to saving a few bucks. Also as for the fumes. I let mine sit with a fan facing into the enclosure for about 3 or 4 days, there was still a slight odor but then i got the idea to spray Repti-Clean on all the walls, floor, and ceiling. I let it sit for a couple minutes than lightly sprayed down with water and wiped off the excess. I closed the enclosure with the lights on for about an hour to "bake it dry" and when i opened the doors there was no smell.

ok great thanks for all the advice. i have another question the enclosure i have used to be used for a snake do i need to clean it out and disinfect it first before i seal it or can i just seal it then wipe it down with a lil bleach and water?

can i just pick up that drylock at any hardware store?

I got mine from Lowes. But i know they carry it at just about every hardware store.

My enclosure was also used for a snake before i got it, To be safe i cleaned and disinfected it before i sealed it. Then let it completely air and dry out for a good 3 or 4 days before putting the Drylock on it. That way you dont trap moisture in the wood. Make sure it is COMPLETELY dry before you seal it.
