Little bit about myself, no idea why but i absolutely LOVE lizards. As a child we could never have pets due to my brother's allergic reaction to pet dander. The first pet that I owned was a beautiful beardie named Jack, he unfortunately passed away two months ago. Since then i have been going crazy feeling like there was something missing in my life. I am also a sucker for animals in need, i saw a post on craigslist that stated an Argentine Red Tegu needed to be re-homed. I did as much possible research on these guys as i could then went out and picked him/her up (i say this because im not too sure on how to sex). A little bit about him/her, I believe he/she is around 3yrs (all info is based upon previous owner) I do not agree with his/her previous diet, we are working on this. He/she has had a multitude of shedding issues (i think from the diet he/she was on). Enclosure he/she is currently in is too smal for our liking but he/she seems very tolerant while i build the new 8x3x2.5. Any advice is very appreciated as i am very new to Tegu care. ATTENTION Tegu veterans out there please ask me as many questions as needed to help me stay on the right track.

Check for bb's. It could go either way with the photos you posted. Even females of Reds tend to have some jowels.

haha, kayla, I thought the video was the video of the new red tegu in question. I was thinking that it was so obviously a male, how could anyone miss it??? Then I realized it was an old video from Agama. Ahh, it's too early.
