So I never did this when I joined last month. I kinda just hopped on and started using it to see if I liked it or if it was a waste of time much like I have found "The Tegu" to be. So far though I have gotten tons of help here and have gained so much knowledge! For example, today I found out my B&W is A) not as old as I was told and B) not a female sadly haha.

Anyways, my name is Robert and I recently got back into lizards and think I have made the greatest choice in choosing a B&W Argentine Tegu! His name is now Smaug...after sadly finding out he can no longer be an Amelia. I got him at around 2 months old and 12 inches. He is now 3 months old and 22 inches. Quite the grower apparently :)

Beautiful tegu. Don't fret about the sex. I went through the the same thing. I was convinced mine was a boy for almost a year. Now I'm pretty sure she is a girl ;) The name was Rocky, so we just changed the spelling to Rockie and life goes on. We love her. You could just start calling yours something similar to Amelia, such as Amex or so. He'll pick up on it fast I'm sure.

I love the fourth from the bottom pic in the sunshine with closed eyes. I can identify with that state of mind! Still, watching the world from the safety of his blanket is the sweetest.

Thanks Dee-Dee! It was only a small let down. The good thing is, he doesn't know it was a let down so he wont change from that haha! He's such a fun dude.

Thanks Walter! Yeah I have noticed 2 styles of laying. The cautious lay where they are ready to pounce...and the arms wide open, just take me lay lol.

I wish that blanket could go in his enclosure that is coming. I just don't think it would work out well...guess that means more free time!
