I am hopefully taking over owner ship of a 21 mnths old b&w boy and I say hopefully on your recommendation ! Basically I went to my local reptile shop today and mentioned it and asked how much weaner rats were and he said if it's been fed them steer clear it's lazy feeding and can have problems with impacted stomach as can't digest fur , is he correct ? I have just brought a colony of dubai roaches and intend to give meatballs etc but a rat or few a week but now I'm scared of the teggy full stop am I being daft ?

Welcome to the forum and the TeguTalk community!

Impaction can occur with ingested fur but impaction is usually a sign of overall poor health. If the tegu is getting decent exercise and is in otherwise good health, he should be ok. You can help him pass things by adding more oil to his diet to help things move along.
