Hi i just picked up this little gem from the Hamburg reptile show last week. It was sold to me as a 6 month old Argentine black and white, but from looking at pictures of other ones i was wondering if it was a normal one or not. it has a very light colored face and seems to have a lot more yellow spots than most that ive seen. the tail also has very solid yellow stripes. could it be a Colombian hybrid? just trying to figure out exactly what i got and roughly how big he or she is going to get. i realize it may be early to determine sex, but if someone could tell that would be great!

Looks like an argentine b@ w . And if you like the white on tegus it looks as if the yellow is turning white on this particular tegu . It looks like it's gonna be very pretty as an adult .
As far as determining sex: usually when they reach anywhere from about 15 to 20 inches in length males develop 2,small but easy to feel ( with your finger ) bumps , one on either side of the anal plate ( cloaca ) . You should be either able to feel the bumps and or see them with your eye .

Lots of baby argentines ( and adults ) have yellow stripes and or spots on them . These are a few weeks old and they are mine. They are all just normal Argentine tegus ( like yours ) and their colors and patterns will change drastically as they grow . They grow very rapidly .
In my above post I also explained how to tell sexes apart ( just in case you missed it because I just wrote it )
