Any and all information greatly appreciated. Done a lot of reading online and some people say don't bother with hibernation unless you intend to breed?

If someone could lay down the information for me, It'd be greatly appreciated.

There's a whole forum section for hibernation, take some time to read up on it starting with the "Important Thread" at the top of it. Also the search engine comes in handy to help find a lot of info.

When that time comes around, the tegu will decide on its own. You can't really stop or prevent them from hibernating, if they choose to stay up, they will, of they choose to go down, they will. I've seen some keep light cycles the same to prevent it and they still go down either way. In the end, it's the tegus decision!

Colombian tegus don't hibernate. It's one of the things that endears them to me over the Argentines and reds. No offense meant, just a manner of personal taste.
