Hello everybody!
My Tégu "Enki" approximatively 3 months old and just received yesterday evening made me something strange this evening.
In the afternoon he's moving around his terra, everything was great except the moment to enter again in his terra. So after this, he staid a long moment under the light and one hour before the light stop he began to dig in his house and he's not go out until the light stop... i thought he maybe tired but...
Do you think he wanna hibernate?
In your opinion, it's possible to delay hibernation for few months or not?
In my opinion he's too small to hibernate now but i would like your opinion please!

Thanks for your help guys!!

They can hibernate as early as 3 months I've been told with you just getting him it could either be stress or hibernation my gu went down for a week before he became more active. I didn't see him for a week strait no eating no nothing when he came up after the 1st week he was starving and hasn't hid ever since

you speak about humidity and this afternoon i little spray his peat in his house to keep humidity but maybe a little more cause tonight he sleep in his beechwood floor, hope that couldn't be a problem for him!

Don't moisten his hide where he sleeps. If you want humidity ,spray the sides of the enclosure..Too moist is not good where he sleeps.

ok thanks! so in your opinion in need to spray enclosure to give him humidity? Here in France nobody ask me about terra humidity so just knew about his house peat but that's all :-(

Do you think that could be a good alternative to put him a small pool if he need to wash it or humidify atmosphere??

That's strange, on my side my tegu don't wanna go in his moist house and prefer sleep under the beechwood floor...
So yesterday i put him a small pool in the middle of his terra, that could humidify atmosphere and wash it if he want.
In this time he sleep a lot. Yesterday he began to sleep at 5 pm to wake up this morning at 8h30 am
