Hibernation?

My five month old b&w just moved into a bigger indoor enclosure and he's been digging a lot. He refused food today (very unlike him) and he's been sleeping until about 1 PM. Is this just him getting used to his new enclosure, or do you think he's preparing for hibernation? Is there any way to prevent hibernation?
