So yea i just watched my tegu just destroy his first pinky with me haha. i've seen b/w eating rodents but its so much different when u seen it first hand like he ripped it appart threw it around and the whole time im going what is it going to be like when i actually feed him small rats when hes bigger haha.

So my question is what was ur first reaction to your tegus first rodent feed ? Weather it was a baby or full grown, what was ur reaction to it?

The first time I though it was pretty uncomfortable. I'm sort of vegan so giving animals meat or whole animals was pretty hard om me at first. Actually I have told my boyfriend that he wasn't allowed to get any big monitors that would need rodents. XD

But then I fell in love with the Tegus and had to get one anyway.

But now I'm used to it and actually enjoy feeding them whole pray. I even want to breed my own quial as Tegufood in the future. :)

Isdrake, I didn't know you're vegan! I'm vegetarian (couldn't give up dairy) so I see that side of things. It's weird though, I'm bothered by steak yet I have no problem giving mice, quail, chickens, etc to my reptiles... I'll even butcher an adult chicken for my gu and not even cringe. It's funny what you'll out of love :-D

Just one ( out off six ) of our Tegus bit into the frozen/ thawed rodent so hard that the guts came out. I almost got sick lol. Usually they just shake it just a little bit but not tear it apart. I can not stand the sound of the bones cracking ( like the head ) when they bite into it lol. The worst thing I had to do is put a frozen/thawed rodent into a blender. I never thought I could do that but what don't you do for the love off the Tegus :) .
