Teg's got into a routine of feeding twice a day ... He's around 6 months old ! Anyone else feeding more than once !?

I usually only feed once a day, but I feed until they get full and start ignoring food.
The tegu & larger monitor will be ready for more after a couple hours, but I am only able to feed twice a day on the weekends.

Niles only wanted to eat maybe one 'meatball ' like every 3rd day...then slowed to flat refusal before hibernation. Not sure what he'll eat once he comes out of it but will pretty much feed once a day whatever he will eat. Let him set his own pace/schedule i think.

I don't think it matters much. Guru is only eating once or twice a week right now. During the summer he will eat 4-5 times a week. He is also 2.5 years old. Some tegus need to be fed more often. I had a tegu for a little while that had to be fed twice a day or he would become moody/food aggressive. I think in his case it had more to do with growth spurts. If you're able to feed your tegu smaller meals a few times a day then go for it. I wouldn't multiple whole prey items multiple times a day though.

Thats what the issue is ... Food Aggressiveness, and it seems to work feeding twice a day ! He is now 30 odd inches and only 6 months old !!? Lol (he must be a male)

When i last measured niles he was only 18 1/2 in. This was before he went down in october. I got him in september, but he seemed to be growing ok because he was maybe 16 in when I got him...haven't measured recently because of hibernation.

I wish niles would come out! I miss him so much! He only comes out in the morning now to bask and drink some days. But prior to this was out cold for like 3 months. So far since up has only eaten one cricket :/

We've been snowed in here over the weekend, cold and miserable and yet Teg is still going for it ! I am puzzled regarding this Hibernation, what the hell causes it in some and not in others !?
