80% IS A BIT HIGH. Keep the humidity between 60% and 70%. I have a forty breeder with a screen lid. I put damp towels over the screen every day without misting it keeps the humidity at 60% all day. Giving I keep the soil damp too. It's hard keeping the humidty up because tegus have such a high basking temp. But it is do-able. Try covering any holes(screen), mist the cage, and keep the soil damp and you should be good.
