Iggy Depression?

Has anyone had any experience with thier iguanas going through a depressed phase? I swear mine is moodier than a swatted hornet.

I haven't changed anything in his environment, but he has become "withdrawn". You pet him, he closes his eyes and pretends you're not there. He was eating out of my hand and has now decided to ignore even his favourite treats. And most annoyingly of all, he tries knocking his light domes off his cage.

I've noticed this appears cyclic, during the weeks before and after he sheds. This time it seems worse, although this is the first year I've had him (had him about 10 months). Could he be getting broody because of the winter coming?

No. We're planning on building him an enclosure this spring though. That and I'm still TRYING to get him able to be handled. It is, to say the least, a challenge. The people that had him before barely did anything with him and I tried one time to put him on a leash to get him used to it. All he did the entire time was crocodile roll. And soundly bit me when I tried to untangle him.

ya forget the leash,,, they do go threw breeding cycles if its a male they do get moody from time to time mostly around may june for me. feed him red fruits like strawberries, raspberries and red grapes. mix them in with food they really seem to like this also like mazuri tortoise chow. . is his cage big enough? could be why he is jumping at light maybe give him a little supervised out time to walk around a little, next summer build him a nice big outside cage any reptile will love this plus it saves u money on electrical bills. 1 hour in natural sun = 5hours under the lights. look on kingsnake iguana forms a lot of info on there
