I'm new - don't have a tegu yet

I was just at Pet World - I live in Milwaukee - I was considering getting a chameleon, but the guy at the store let me hold the tegu and I fell in love. Our bearded dragon of 15 years died this summer, we have 3 tortoises currently. I'm learning and keeping my eye out for a baby to bring home to our family. They seem like great pets!

A chameleon is not a hands on pet. They do not like to be held and handling stresses them out. They have less long life span if handled.
A tegu on the other hand is very social. If you have the space (6-8 ft cage), time and money (they are expensive pets, more so than a bearded) they are so great!

I would definitely go with tegu. They are just so cool and aggravating at the same time. People normally just want them to be tame or get rid of it. I feel that's were the accomplishment is in earning is love and trust
