Our 2-3 year old (rescue) female Cuban Rock Iguana has been a little rounder than normal the past few weeks and hasn't been eating well until last week. She started eating alot and spending a lot of time trying to get out, very unlike her. When I'd take her out she didn't stay on my shoulders like she normally does. She's been so adventurous we even let her free roam yesterday for a few hours. She had a great time basking in the sun.

This morning I noticed her burrowing in her substrate again, as she's been doing a lot of the past week. When I went to get her food bowl out I saw the eggs. She bobbed me a bit and burrowed again. I removed the eggs without a problem.

Unfortunately our 3.5 year old male is WAY TOO BIG to mate with her, like maybe 2 lbs vs. maybe 8 lbs. Maybe be in a year or two if we can get her to eat better.

We were told (by the original rescuer that had her for 1.5 years) she had her first infertile clutch last June.

Awesome Dave! Pump that lil girly up already!!
How's stumpy doing?
Still a spazz but eats his greens like a pig. And he's getting bigger! I think he'll probably catch up to her before she gets big enough to mate with the 3 footer.

She's very petite!! She had a very hard beginning in her life. She was rescued from a guy who had dozens of exotic reptiles and mammals in a Manhattan apartment!!! She was named Jackel by the original rescuer because she was living in a lunch box above a jackels cage!! He guessed she was about 6 months old at the time but it's hard to tell. She had kinks in her spine from MBD and was very malnourished. He brought her back to good health. But he has some rare disease that flairs up and lands him in and out of the hospital for months so he decided he needed to find some of his reptiles homes where they could be better cared for. A year and a half ago he called us and gave us the big male Red Tegu. He rescued him 6 weeks earlier, the poor thing had been fed hot dogs & pop tarts and was full of pin worms. Again he brought it back to good health but it was only 4.25 lbs when we got him. Now he's about 10 lbs and very happy. Last summer he called us and gave us the Cuban Rock Iggy and a high end Bearded Dragon. We don't hear from him and his wife much, they are trying to adopt a baby since his condition is genetic.
