Interesting Tegu Behaviors

My tegu will claw at the glass of his enclosure until I let him out. He will often proceed to make a bee line for the nearest hiding place in the room I let him roam in and then stay in it for hours. Anyone else experience something like this? Any insight into what is going on in he lizard brain? What other funny behaviors do people see in their tegus?

Haha mine will do this every now and then. I think that comes with exploring and they are curious but I could be wrong. I see them digging sometimes and wonder what they could be doing as well. Other than that, not much strange behavior and they seem very intelligent.

My tegu will scratch at the glass, pace in his cage, jump on the lights, but when I bring him out he will just lay around, either under the basking spot I have in the living room or find a place to sleep on the couch.

My girl loves dark places (under the couch, under the coffee or serving table, under the cages that belong to my sugar babies.....). While switching from one to another, she'll always end up back in her inclousure on her own. She loves her dog bed and the blanket too lol
