Is my male trying to get with the ladies or am I just paranoid?

I had them all hanging out in the spare room. It's the first time he had been able to hang with them both at the same time. At first they paid no attention to each other. After 10 or so minutes the male started following one of the females really closely and started breathing heavily, it sounded like when they puff up but he wasn't puffing he was just checking her out. He didn't climb on her or anything, she just sat there. After 30 or so seconds I picked him up and put him on the other side of the room thinking a small break would mellow him back down....
But nope, he went over to the other female and did the same thing :s. After that I put him back in his enclosure. The girls are still hanging out in here with me. There wasn't any mounting, biting or anything like that. After seeing the sperm plugs in his stool its probably better to just keep them separate right? Was there anything going on or am I being sketch?

He look like he is jowl popping which is a breeding behaviour, looks too small/young to try and breed although some males can breed at 2 y/o, i would just keep a careful eye on the when free roaming together. But next year you better watch out lol you might end up with a preggo tegu or 2!

See, I thought he was way too young too, he'll be a year this summer... If it continues he won't be allowed near 'em lol, the last thing I want is an accidental pregnancy, especially when I'm trying to get these girls up to a healthier size. They're going to be 2 this summer, maybe they were giving him some kind of vibe or something.. But they're not even close to a breeding size either, they're barely over 2 feet..

He didn't have any issues with me pulling them apart either, I picked him right up and he didn't put up any sort of fight

I dont think he would actually try to breed just yet, my male red started jowl popping when he seen the girls and they were triple his size( he was 10 mos.) i never seen gozar jowl popping and he was 2 y/o and im waiting for rayne and storm to start(well sorta lol they gotta get some jowls first) you dont have anything to worry about, they dont look anywere near ready to hold follicles and i highly doubt he could fertilize anything just yet

Yeah he didn't try mounting or anything else. He was just like he was in the video. The females didn't lift their tails or anything, they sat there for a little bit and then walked off. Do they only do it around females or will they do it just because? The funny thing is he barely has jowls lol hes just a tegu teenager.

I think they do it around females when they get excited and other males when being dominant, when i picked up gozar there was a larger male tegu that was jowl popping over him, pyro my red just didit around my girls(mostly nero because she free roamed all day and he seen her) sometimes i think he did it to me too lol, i have a video on youtube and i think its in the red tegu section
