I have a male black and white tegu. And a male Savannah monitor. The tegu is about 2 1/2 years old. The satisfaction about 8 months old. They are both free roam but have their own enclosures. They both decided to spend time together this afternoon. They get along surprisingly . Both being males.

My my red tegu males legit cuddle all day and in the last week the larger of the 2 male reds started trying to mount the smaller red male constantly chases him around pulsing his jowls when he climbs on top trays to bite to mount lol and they are both males idk of it's a dominant thing or he legit is tryna mate! They were supposed to be a pair but one you can clearly tell is a male by huge jowls other isnt big jowled yet but both have bbs on each side of tail... and my pure blue 100%het female and her supposed partner I got as a pair turned out to be a female as well which is a blue ice tegu 100%het and they cuddle all the time to

I was just surprised because they are two different species. The tegu just makes himself at home on top of the Savannah. Its pretty comical

I have wondered if I got a savannah If he would get along with my tegu he’s very mellow nothing bothers him. I have a bearded dragon and blue tongue skink that are free roaming but have separate habitats on the opposite side of my living room but my skink often goes to my dragon area and they hang put together sometimes the skink sleeps on the dragons back

I got my sav about 8 months ago. He was no longer than my middle finger. Now he is about 27 inches. Tip to tip. Him and the tegu both have large enclosures but they are free roam. They just go from enclosure to enclosure and settle wherever. The tegu usually likes to lie on top of the Savannah. The little booger crapped on the sav the other day

Is your Savannah captive bred if so where did you get him ,

Actually no, he is from Rodney irwins stock of wild caught Florida tegus. I got him a year ago June as a juvenile. He has grown alot. He is 41 inches. Very docile. He is like an aloof cat. Lol
