I just picked up an iguana last night. I was told by the guy that it had a little nose rub that iis healing up, but he can't get it to put on any weight.

I met up with him, he handed me the iguana in a box, said I could just put it in the trunk of my car. That was the first thing that pissed me off. Then, I get the iguana in the car, the front of the car. I take him out, he is skin and bones. The nose rub is massive. It is the whole nose. It's swollen, and scabbed. The whole right side of his upper jaw is covered in mouth rot. I got some meds for the mouth and the nose, and I am feeding him baby food through a syringe. so far, he is doing pretty well. He is also getting warm soaks.

I think he is getting better already. He now has the energy to tail whip. It's strange how excited I get when he tail whips me. People that aren't into herps just won't understand.

thats great! its good that he is getting energy back. he looks like he will be a beautiful iggy once he is fattened up. and that nose rub looks huge! what are you using to take care of it?

thanks everyone. He is getting better, I got him to eat some soft iguana pellets on his own yesterday. It is surprising how fast he is recovering. I am using a tripple anti biotic ointment on his nose, and a mouth flush for the mouth infection. He is fine out of his cage, but he is mean in it.
