I just got this WICKED new camera last night and I'm stoked about it!
I thought I'd share a couple pix of my boy blue with ya. Well, I think it's a boy. What do you think? I'll post more relevant photos later when I get time to take more.

Note: I edited them only to resize them. Colors are exactly what you'd see in person.

Here he looks like the average brown cyclura hybrid you'd see.

Here the lighting makes his skin look blueish. I need to see if I can get him out and hot in sunlight while we still have weather decent enough to get him warm in.

Wednesday I should hopefully get some awesome EXTREME photos for you! Can't wait!!

Looks more male to me but I have an untrained eye when it comes to this species. Great shots though!

Can you get a side shot of the base of the tail while the tail is being held arched upward somewhat? From the photos that you posted it looks female to me but I'd like a profile shot of the base of the tail before I make a decision. :)

I'll see what I can do. Are you looking for hemipenes bulges or lack thereof?
Blue is 1 year old today. I've waited all this time to get a better name for him but I want to make sure of the sex.(had to change the last one) I suppose I could take him to be probed to be sure but finding a vet who could be certain about such should prove difficult as well as costly, no doubt.
The reason I think it is a boy is because of the attitude and traits but it's hard to say sometimes with lizards because sometimes you think you have a boy and then she lays eggs!

At only a year of age all any one of us would be doing is guessing. My experience with Cyclura is that bulges don't appear until at least 18 months of age. Also, probing isn't that accurate either and I would not risk it with a squirming young lizard. Don't worry about changing the name later on...I can assure you that the lizard doesn't care one way or the other. LOL

Argus333- I got him as a hatchling from David Blair in California. It just so happened the day I contacted him about a lizard that this one was born with his clutchmates. # weeks later he came to live with me. And yes I would much rather have a boy if I am only to have one of them. He is from Blair's "Big Blue" featured in reptiles magazine and Vivarium, etc. The mother is "Mrs. Blue" his bluest female. SO this one should be a very high blue for a hybrid. I am however on the waiting list with Robert Ehrig who has THE most pure bloodlines of Lewisi money can buy.(and they AIN'T cheap!) Ehrig says his look exactly like the real thing and you'd have to do DNA to tell otherwise.
I just hope things are going well next year when I have an opportunity to possibly get one.
