I removed all the coil lights and put two 48'' 5000K fullspec lights inthe middle of the cage . So i now have a zoo-med powersun MVB 12'' above # 1 basking area , a zoo- med 100 watt halogen basking light over #2 basking area 16 ''above .I am happy with the way its set up now . it was too dark in area before . Do you guys have lights come on and off at different times with timers , like they show on Repile UV's web site video ?

Thanks

I have a 125w SolarGlo and 2 10.0 48" reptisun UVB tubes. They are on a time to come on at 7 and go off at 8.

I've used them in the past they seem to be pretty good,i like the mega ray as my first choice though.

I was going to order a mega ray but I kept hearing how people were waiting so long for one. I think I am going to leave the linear tube and get a powersun also.

you have heat , uv and fill in light ( 40 watt day light ) so it looks like you hve it covered .just like they say on www.reptileuv.com videos . just make sure your 48'' bulb is not warn out and still puts out UV . I would get a new one sometime and keep note of the date you got it and replace it when needed . Thats why i want a solar meter , so i can check the bulbs for myself .

what are your temps under the 45 watt halogen ? you need a spot at least 110-120 for rhinos from what i have been told .

I can lower to enough to get a temp of 130 degrees. I keep his at 110-115.However it is cold around here still in the low 60's in the summer the bulb will have to be raised. I use 45 watt halogens for my tegus too. For example in my savannah monitor cage I have a bank of three lights 2 45 watt halogen and a powersun uvb. It makes a basking spot that is 130 and covers her whole body.

Regular halogen bublbs from the hardware thrw off way more heat than a 75 watt basking bulb from the petsotre plus it covers a larger area for bigger guys and is alot easier on the electric bill.
