Long weekend foldable cage ideas

I need to transport my 41 inch tegu back to Michigan from Iowa for the 4th. I need a portable/packable cage to keep him in for 3 days. I was thinking of getting a puppy pen and setting it up outside during the day and bringing it in at night. I was also thinking of setting the puppy pen up inside with a few old sheets on the bottom. I could set up the light so that his day cycles dont get too thrown off. I'm sure he wont love the 8 hr trip, but I have no one to watch him here. I am leaving friday night and will be back monday night. Too long to go without food I would think.

Any helpfull ideas?

I just left all of my herps at home alone this past weekend. I left Friday morning and came back Sunday night. If you can leave food in his enclosure Friday night that he can eat Saturday, not eating Sunday and Monday won't be a problem. Even going without food saturday, Sunday, and Monday shouldn't cause any problems. Just make sure he has fresh water, and his lights are on a timer.

He may take the ride better if he was in a cloth bag and packed away..
