Loose tegu, trap ideas ?

Hello ! My 3ft female Loki some how managed to open her sliding doors and has no been loose somewhere in my basement for the past 24 hours. We have tore EVERYTHING apart. I mean it lookes like a tornado went through here. I'm sure she's just sleeping somewhere but I'm getting antsy lol. When I was younger and had hamsters if one ever got loose we would set a little trap so they could get in but not out , think it could help nab her? Any ideas let me know. Thanks.:)

Sorry that your Loki is on the loose. Many can sympathize with your situation. While I do not know if this method will work with a Tegu, it has been known to work with other reptiles and so it may be helpful.

Setup a heat lamp and some food for the tegu. Periodically check the site to see if the tegu is there. Again. I have no first hand experience with applying this method with a Tegu. No doubt the more experienced people will offer ideas which may be more suitable.

Meanwhile, here's to you and Loki being reunited very soon. Please keep us posted.

Still no sign of her, it's like she just vanished . We have hard wood floors or tile she's not a very quite creature you I thought for sure I'd hear her by now but nothin :/ if she was in the walls or some where trapped she'd be scratching and we'd hear that. I'm really starting to get worried because I know her daily routine and thought maybe I'd see her up and wandering around when it's time for her to wake up but nothing. I set up food and heat for her in her tank and left the doors open because she knows where her tank is she climbs in and out all the time. My poor baby she's probably cold :/

Not knowing where or how a beloved companion animal is may be one of the most painful experiences. Keep up with the search. I hope Loki is found very soon.

How'd you catch her?
She just happen to be wandering around and heard her nails on the tile and picked her butt up. She was so sweet for a couple days and now she's back to being moody :/ trying to domesticate a wild tegu is proving to be quite the challenge. Wish I had known before I bought her and got attached .

How did you acquire Loki? Do you know how old she was when she came to live with You? At any rate, it is good to know she was found and no worse for wear.
