Well when i got my tegu it had shed rings on 3 toes. I was able to take care of 2 of the rings with lots of tub soaking and keeping baby oil on them. The 3rd toe i could not get the ring off. I tried everything even tweezers but the growth of the tegu and the depth of the ring was impossible for me to remove it. So the toe finally gave up and fell off. The toe had to be dead for along time due to the fact when it fell off it had already been healed as a nub.
