To make a long story very short… this past Friday one of the glass sliding doors on my enclosure got broken. I was forced to evacuate Mr. Crowley out of his enclosure into a temp 40 gallon fish tank (cover three side of tank with black paper and make sure he had everything he needs in the tank). Yes… I broke the one rule I never wanted to break… disturb my new tegu while he was in his hide. Well I was able to temporally replace the glass that day and got Mr. Crowley back in his home. Since then, I have not seen him at all. Before I would catch him under the light basking… now nothing. The only way I know he is there in the enclosure is missing food from his bowl. What is the best course of action?

Just let him be sometimes they need to be moved it is no big deal it is a problem when it is what you do everytime you handle them. He is probably just stressed from going in between the two different enclosures. I am sure in a few days he will be back to himself. I have had to give Tonka medicine and he hated it I was so worried that he would be afraid of me, but he is fine the same thing with you moving yours he will forgive you :).

I agree with heprgirl, there were times I took my tegu out of his hide or dug him out of his burrow and he has no problems.
