Male or female?

Hey guys,

I just bought a new baby :) I am hoping it's a male, can't really tell if there's that certain scale by the vent. the first pic is mine (dark hand holding it), the othet 2 are what the store still has just incase i want to swap lol.

I am not sure but it looks like as if there are the bumps a male would have at the vent of the tail on the first pic!
Also the first one looks healthier and stronger!

Ya he was more fiesty too. The others were more "calm" which made me think they lacked some energy. They could just be docile lol, but i know they're supposed to be fiesty buggers at this size loll. I really hope its a male. I had a beautiful 3.5ft 8-9 month old male but he passed some months ago :-(

In his large enclosure had 2 big boulders (60lbs each easy) to bask on. One boulder leaning against the other. He used to dig under them for his hide spot (14 inches of substrate ), I don't know what he did but one boulder shifted from the other and pretty much crushed him when he was under. Was really upsetting.
