Most posts say "separate males". Others say "with two males per one female u get higher fertility rate. One guy (who sounds like he knows...) claims "males get along, even at peak of breeding season." Do males get along as he claims?
It isn't worth the risk at all. My big male has a massive scar across the center of his back where his skin was ripped away by another male. He needed stitches. This all happened before I got him, when he was in foster, but the scar remains. The person who had him said his skin was literally hanging.
Tegus are harem breeders. Think a bull in the pasture or Green iguanas. In the confines of captivity, even generous with space, there WOULD be a fight, and the vanquished would not be able to run away.
