not sure if my gu has this or not.what are some symtoms.his back legs arent sprattled out and he supports his self about 1 1/2 inches off the ground,his uvb light is on almost 12 hours,and the uvb bulb is about 10 inches from his basking spot.im just worried about him and i want him to be in good health.

i give a pretty generous amount to his turkey eggs ETC but none win i feed rodents,he has a solorglo 125W its combined with heat too,ill be changing the bulb in about 4 months,ill probly get a powersun or something else.

twitching ,shaking in the rear limbs, are some symptoms.if it gets worse draging the rear legs and then hunched back,parylization and death. my tegu had "the shakes" shortly after i got him. I treated him with daily natural sun exposure and calcium supplements, and he recovered with no apparent problems.

thats good to hear and my gu does none of those things,but my gu doesnt get natural sunlight,i took him out the other day and he spazzed and bit me! lol,my tegu is pretty tame so i was suprised,should i get like a small lizard leash,i think he may be big enuff for one!

I dont handle mine outside (exept to move him from one bin to another.) try placing him in a bin inside and then taking him out in the bin. natral sunlight promotes natural behavior in most reptiles, so your "tame " tegu might have a different personality while hes outside ( and for a short time after you bring him indoors) . be carefull about the reptile leash .I used one on a savanah monitor once and almost lost him.
