Hello, Im new to this forum. Earlier today i purchased my first tegu, and its great!
On the first day she fell asleep on my lap. I cant wait to see what shell be like in a month . Heres some pics:
Hi,.. :-D Welcome to the site,..glad to have you and Congratulations on the new Gu.
Did you get much background info when you got her?
She looks like she's been through a lot and her pattern reminds me of a Blue tegu with a much darker head. But I still see Blue Tegu markings on both her body and her head.
Thats what i was thinking too. Shes really small shes only 2 feet 7 inches. Shes also a proven breeder so she must have reached maturity. Ill put her in a bath tub later today and see what color she really is, shes pretty dirty from digging.
montana- Ive kept monitors for the past 2 years and then a couple months ago, I had to sell them all to help pay for my moms cancer. A month or so ago i caame across an article about tegus and i became really fascinated and I have been wanting to get a tegu ever since. Its her first day here, and shes already nicer than all the monitors ive had haha.
slideaboot- They are scars, her previous owner obviously put the lights to low. I was told there from breeding but she has scars in places that the male could not have grabbed like the tip of her head. Im guessing shes gonna have a hard time shedding that spot so when she does, im gonna make a compress out of paper towel and warm water and put it on her scars.
