I just picked up my new little guy. Super excited I've owned chameleons snakes and bearded dragons but this is my first tegu.

I have been doing lots of research on it they are so dope!

Thank you yea I read about it I feed him outside of his tank. What are other good substrates to get that are less likely to harm him?

They make a crush walnut that's okay and ground up calcium that's also OK and makes easy cleaning with a sifter

Mine are outside on cement when not overwintering. I don't know good options only that impaction can be a serious matter.
