My mom and dad got me this adorable little Argentine B&W as a gift for my high school graduation which happened yesterday :) (thanks mom and dad love you!)

He is about 3-4 weeks old, and im guessing about 6-7 inches from nose to tip of tail. hes very skittish of me, but ill have him calmed down in no time :) going to be interacting with this little one constantly.

I named him Squirt because hes so tiny and hes so cute that he reminds me of the little sea turtle off of Finding Nemo :) Plus, I like ironic names, and when hes an adult, a full grown mr tough guy macho tegu with the name Squirt fits that pretty well :p

Here are some pictures.

Nap time after exploring his new home :)

oh wide awake, gotta check things out make sure this crazy girl staring at me with a camera isnt going to try anything stupid.

the first glance in the box he was brought home in :) the flash was on by mistake, and it really took out his colors. hes got a lot more green on him than what it looks like in this picture.

congrats on the tegu and graduation! he is very nice, but be cautioned chances are likely he is an import, seeing as the cbb babies arent usually hatched out until around june/july! i would get him checked out by a vet!

they are skittish when they are babies, I have two of them, bout... 5-6 months old, one is very skittish when I get near he goes into his hide, the other chills and acts like im not even their...

I am trying to ignore the one that is scared of me cause when he sees my hands he trips out , hes even lunged at me multiple times so i just leave him alone, although I do want to pick him up to show him I am not going to hurt him i think its best not to because it will only stress him out.

So dont be to worried if you dont see "FAST" progression.

Congratulations on your new Tegu. It's really cute. :)
Be careful so you don't stress him too much. Handling is nothing a reptile need, they probably just get stressed out of it. Small tegus are skittish, I'm sure yours will calm down even if you don't interact with him constantly.

Good looking gu, I would also get him or her checked out.

On a side note and not to be debbie downer, but are you going to be going away for college or staying at home? If you are going away who is going to be caring for the gu?
