It's been about a month (feels longer!) since I've had these 2. The darker more spotted one is a male. Still thinking the ligher more striped one is a female.. It looks jowly sometimes but I haven't felt any spurs or seen any boy parts.
They've both grown quite a bit, a couple inches each in length. Both have put on a decent amount of wight too! They're eating daily, they're eating me out of house and home :p They might end up being average sized tegus after all! (Please ignore the giant poop in the back of most of the pics lol its gone now I promsie! :D)

This first picture is from the day I scopped them up, they spent the night in a 40 gallon tank.

I got them April 10th. If I were someone else I don't think I'd believe me with the amount of growth they've had haha.
I sent the previous owner a pic of the two of them and he was shocked with how big they're getting.
I've been feeding them mice 2-3 times a week, I might cut back now that they've gained some weight. They both eat 3 large mice at a time! They're little pigs! They've been chowing down on lots of ground turkey (good thing I stocked up with the last bogo sale), other poultry, fish and some fruits here and there. They've only had eggs once, they love the eggs but I'm not sure I love cleaning up the aftermath.
Before I had only been using a calcium supplement with Guru, the larger male. After getting these two I also picked up herptivite multivitamin, is that a good one to use? I've never used one before... :/
I've been adding the multi vitamin to all the meals except whole prey. I used to do the calcium every other day but now I'm also doing that to all meals except whole prey.
Also, no BM issues with all the mice, they each have a BM daily, there have been a few times where they have gone more than once in a day. No issues with sheds, I get so nervous with the female, shes only got 2 front toes and every time I get worried she might lose another, one of them is cracked pretty deep..

Not sure why there is a "!" next to my post title... I clicked a heart lolol

I use to use a reptile vitamin supplement i got from petsmart but i Cant remember the name of it but it worked wonders, i used it for all my reptiles, i had an iguana that was in horrible shape when i got him, i used it with him and it really helped, he gained alot of weight, his color got really vibrant, i think it was reptivites but Cant say for certain, i only used it 3-4 x's a week though

I got mine at petsmart its a little white jar thing with a blue label.. Do you see anything wrong with giving it to them daily? If theres not much of a difference between a couple times a week and daily I might cut back on it. I've never used a multi vitamin with a reptile before I had only been doing calcium supplements.

Idk if there is however i do know too much of a good thing can be a bad thing, so i would reduce it especially since they appear to be very healthy and growing at the speed of light lol

Yeah thats kind of how I was thinking. They've really blown up and I don't want them to grow too quickly. They're almost 2 but I still can't see it being too good if they keep ballooning lol. They seem to be at a good weight, unless you think they're porky, so I'll cut back on the mice and the vitamin.

No they look fine, idk if you ever seen pics of my tegu nero but she was a huge girl, by the time she reached 1 y/o she weighed like 15lbs and could take a med. To large rat with no problem, she was twice the size of my male and he was 2 lol, they can grow very fast, as long as the diet is proper, good uvb/heat is provided and they get excercise i see no problem

I think she got alot bigger not only because she ate alot but also she got to be outside practically everyday so she got to get alot of natural uvb(except during winter of course)

Yeah for sure, I'm hoping I can keep taking my tegus out as the weather improves, we had a couple nice days last week, low 70's but then it dropped back down to mid 50's. :(
