Hey again everyone. Next month, I might just be getting an Argentine Black and White Tegu and I'm so excited! It turns out I do not have to wait until I get an apartment to get an 8'x4' enclosure. When my Tegu gets larger, we are going to keep it in one of the rooms in our basement. The room is escape proof and my Tegu will have plenty of free roam room when it gets out of it's enclosure. I found an enclosure that is 8x3 though for $950 though I am considering building my own because it'll save me hundreds of dollars. I'll be getting my first job soon and I'll be making $10-$11 so I'll have the money to get everything after 3 checks from work. I'll keep everyone updated and I'll be sure to post a lot of pics when I get my Tegu :)

Good luck!

If you are not concerned with a "furniture like" finished look, Making a huge enclosure is pretty easy. Keep the design simple and practical, then just be sure to take your time cutting square corners and everything should come together easily.

The doors are the hardest part but if we follow the simple practical approach of sliding glass doors we'll find they are not as difficult as first thought, plus they are quite practical.

I agree with Toby. Making them is a butt ton cheaper. You can get some that look pretty nice and only cost a couple hundred to build depending on all the extras and options you want. I found my tegus current home off CL, it was crazy cheap, the guy was moving to Vegas and didn't want to haul it that far...

To me it seems more worth it to build one yourself. I'm excited to get mine going. When its done I can be like "yeah thats right, I built that!" lol. I'm sure someones mentioned it before but there are a ton of tutorial type threads on this site and many others that you can use to pull bits and pieces from. They've got all sorts of info on what is safe to use for your herp. Good luck!
