First of all he stoped eating and slowed down like normal but he didnt actually go down into hibernation till late December. Now im trying to wake him because its the end of may and hes still not active. If i let him he still will just hibernate. When i do wake him he basks for about and hour then goes back under. He hasnt eatin since like october and still isnt taking food. PLease help me getting this guy awake and eating normally :(

what are your temps and humidity like? sometime if those are off it may effect their shedule, btw are you positive he dosnt come up on his own, i ask because i thought my red had went back down also, but it turns out he gets up at 6 am when the lights are turned on, and will only stay out a few hours if he wasnt fed early in the morning, now with me having a late job im rarely ever up that time of day, so naturally everyday when i wake up usually about 11 am-12 noon he is in his hide sleeping so i thought the same thing until i decided one day to just get up at 6 and watch him!

You may not like to hear this but you may have to just let him rest until he wants to get up. I brought Diego from PETCO last June and he hibernated all of last summer, though the fall and winter and just got up about four weeks ago. 11 months straight of hibernating! I tried everything suggested. I raised humidity, turned on the lights, etc., etc. but he just didn't want any part of it. Then all of a sudden, about four weeks ago, he for some reason decided to awaken. Now, fortunately, he's on the same schedule as my other tegu and enjoying the summer rays. But it took long enough. You'd be amazed how long they can go down for. Of course, he is very skinny but he's eating well now and should add the weight.
