I have had my black and white Tegu for nearly 2 yrs now but for some reason he has stopped eating. I know that they may slow down on eating during the hibernation period but he hasn't eaten in about a week and a half. He didn't do this last year so it's kind of worrying me. He doesn't mind me opening his mouth and everything so i can try and force feed him but I'm afraid to do so if he chokes, so I'd like to know if he's acting on normal hibernation behavior or if there really is something wrong with him.

With this really cold winter were having some tegus who never hibernated are doing it this year. Durning hibernation tegus may not eat for 7 months. If his not eating or drinking he might be trying to hibernate this last part of the winter. check out the hibernation fourm and there is a sticky topic at the top that goes over hibernation in tegus.
i just got a little worried cus he wasn't really eating so it kinda freaked me out a bit
