NEED ADVICE

I need your opinion regarding my new ig.

Today he stayed laying with his arms back in the right hand corner of the tank that at the time was around 88.9 degrees (this is not the basking spot) he stayed there until almost 11:30am. Now that he is finally out and about he spent some time under the Megaray the moved over to his basking spot by the next time I came in from outside. After a little while of being under his basking area (95-105) he tried to scratch the side of the glass to get out again...

I haven't seen him eat today yet but yesterday and the day before I did see him take a couple of bites but not much...

I guess what I'm asking is this all pretty normal for a new ig? And what can I do to make this process easier on him?

Mine was rarely out of his hide for the first few weeks. I would just put his food in and leave him alone.

i agree with james. I'm one to be quick to want to handle them, but they really need their space. don't wanna freak them out even more than they already are.

I don't want to freak him out at all I was more or less just asking if this was normal activity for a rhino?
While we are talking about him here are a couple more pics...
