Mix the food he likes with food he must eat. If healthy, he'll not starve himself.

I'd try freshly-killed crickets in a bowl with ground turkey. Or- if a deep enough bowl live ones with turkey so forced to grab turkey with moving crickets.

He ate 2 of the super worms but just kept looking at me for more crickets haha. Instead of killing them I pulled off their back legs so they stayed in the bowl. I'm still open to any suggestions on how to get him to eat other foods or what foods he might like.

This might be a dumb question but have you tried giving other food with no crickets whatsoever? Ground turkey seems to be the universal fave dish for tegus, but he might be into other meats as well! My girl for example really digs beef heart and chicken gizzards, and she really loves green seedless grapes! But, strangely, very lukewarm towards super worms.
