HI! My name is Jamie and I rescued a ten month old columbian golden tegu last night and named him Mr. MaGoo or Magoo or Goo for short. He is in pretty bad condition. He's missing toes and other toes are falling off due to too low of humidity. He is in a 18x18.24 enclosure...way too small for him. As soon as I get him a bigger enclosure I think he will start to grow. Actually we're building it. He's already stolen my heart and i already have fallen in love with him. He didn't have a basking lamp or uvb. They were just using a regular household light. I bought a solar glo last night for him and I'm working on getting him a bigger enclosure temporarily until our big one is built. I think a 55 gallon would work. Just temporary. He ate some scrambled eggs for us last night. He also didn't have anything in his enclosure so I made him a temporary hide and got him some water. He drank for ten minutes straight. I have three other reptiles. I have a bearded dragon Lizzy (rescue) I have a chinese water dragon and a crested gecko (rescue). I love them all but Goo is definitely stealing my heart. I think the challenge is intriguing to me as well. Anyway, thanks for the add and I can't wait to get to kmow all of you and your beautiful Leezards!!!

Welcome from the other side of the great state of missouri! Get that dude on whole prey immediately. Mice, quail , dubia. If you're doing eggs or turkey make sure to supplement with calcium. Thanks for rescuing the lil guy and good luck!

I'm working on getting him to eat live prey or whole prey. I think tomorrow I'm going to start with a pinky and see how he does! He actually ate in front of us tonight and we gave him a bath and held him for a while. He's very docile once you get him out of his tank. I'm also working on an enclosure for him. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!! I can't wait for him to get used to us and not act afraid of us.
