New guy + first tegu

Hello all,

Im Matt, 24 years old and im getting my first tegu. I bought an Argentine black and white from underground reptiles. It will arrive tomorrow morning. im starting it out in a 55 gal aquarium with cypress much and uva/uvb/heat lights. I hope to be a part of this community learning and contributing.

That setup may last at most 2-4 months. Get on building a 4x3x3 cage or jump straight to a 8x4x4. Make sure temps are on point you wanna aim for 120-135 surface basking temp and 80-85 ambient.

Also I'd go ahead and bulk buy some fuzzy mice and other whole prey.
