Hey everyone

I'm a new member and a new tegu owner as of yesterday. We got Legu our columbian black and white yesterday. I put a couple of pictures above of him and the cage. Just wanted to see what everyone thought about the custom cage I built and if there was anything that they would add. The cage is 6x3x3 and I have a basking spot with temps around 105 to 110. I also have a uvb light and a red ambient light to keep it around 70 degrees at night (usually right at 77). We put cypress mulch in for bedding which seems to be holding moisture well and keeping the humidity levels at 70%. So let me know what you all think and any advice you all have would be awesome!

Looks good! But I'd bump temps to 120-130 basking surface temp (using a temp gun to measure). I'd also change from cypress to sand soil mix. There have been problems with gu's ingesting cypress and having it puncture organs.

Thanks, I will definitely look into raising the temps for basking. I'll work on changing the substrate too. As soon as he comes out from his burrow that is;)
