new Red ownerowner

Hello everyone,

I just picked up my first tegu, a red i got him at a local reptile expo, he is already tame and is doing awesome, I did a lot of research on them before getting him, got a lot of great info on this site that I used.

Right now I have him in a 90 gal aquarium that is 48"x18" soon as this cold weather breaks here in Illinois in the spring I'll be building him a 8x4x4, I'm getting a lot of great ideas on the housing thread here

Congrats to you and welcome to the forums.. Yes our Chicago weather can be a bit much lol.. I as well am waiting for the spring so I can start building new enclosures and designing enclosure background. New and improve golden tegu enclosure coming soon lol...

Yeah he got him really tame, it was nice getting one calm and not having to go through the taming process, couldn't be happier with him.

Did you go to the short bold guy who is always got his setup by the atm machine lol...

No, got him from the guy that is closer to the front, he usually has a big 3 or 4 table setup

That guy told me he didn't have anymore tegus lol.. That.s the guy with all those over priced chameleons lol.. But I got my gold tegus from the bold guy who is always set up by the atm machine lol.. He a cool dude lol...
